The Trojan Horse

The Trojan horse, We Have All Had One

In ancient Grecian times a Trojan horse was delivered with the intent to rage war, kill and deliver the prize, Helen, back to her owner. Evil was lurking inside. The gift was received and accepted. Little did the receivers know it would cause their downfall.

In modern times to deliver a Trojan horse means about the same. You are accepting of gifts or nice gestures. These nice gestures at times come with hidden deadly agendas. Soon you are out of a job, a husband or an opportunity.

I found myself referring to my friends as pre-Trojan horse and post. All those that I had absolute trust in before the Trojan horse I still trusted 100% all those post-Trojan I put them through a series of trust meter tests.

What is a trust meter? Well as an individual proves they are accountable, compassionate or trustworthy they get points. When they reach a certain amount of points then they are trusted at higher levels.

This is not a perfect system but it helps to empower you so you are not the victim of any Trojan horses.

Best life to live is the use of the platter. Always be careful what you put on your platter, be discreet with your personal affairs and share your personal items with those that have high scores on your trust meter.

Yes, there will be times when someone escapes your meter reading:
When your husband of 30 years or so decides he wants a divorce and you had no idea why till your best friend Betty is seen with him around town.

Or when you had a hot deal offered to you by your investment broker and you lost big time and he/she made big commissions on “puts” with your stock.

Keep in mind that it is far worse to have not trusted at all.  In time, these Trojan horses go away and “do themselves in”, trust me on this one.

Best rule of thumb is what I saw in a children’s movie. In the movie there was a bag lady who befriended a nice young boy. At first the young boy was afraid of her but in time they became friends. When the young boy asked her why she lived like this, she answered that once she was a cellist in a big orchestra and her husband had left her. She was so divested she became a bag lady. The young man answered “you are like this bird here in a cage, if you stay in the cage you will never be free , you seem protected , but you will never be loved again either. “

Trust, love and go about your life with little regrets.
