Trading Bullies: The EEOC Good, Bad and Ugly

Trading Bullies: The EEOC Good, Bad and Ugly

This is dedicated to all my lady friends out there whom have experienced sexual harassment at some point in their lives. The first step to freedom is to stop being politically correct and adopt a Texan “call it like it is attitude.”

This whole experience with the EEOC is like the movie “Sleeping with the Enemy”.
You put your whole heart out there thinking someone will listen and make it right.
Well it isn’t going to happen like that exactly. You will need to keep your pride and integrity in tact for the long haul nowhere.

Initially I am sure the EEOC was set up to protect the rights of others whom have experienced harassment. As of late that whole scenario has changed.  The EEOC themselves have become the bully.

Have you ever tried to process a claim through the EEOC for many, many months, or up to a year or more and left tattered from frustration and disbelief?                                           Read on and weep the stories that follow:

Marie worked at a hotel. Her boss, Terry, was a woman also. When Terry moved to management she had no idea that her employer’s contractor would sexually assault her daily, break into her condo and she would be forced to call 911. Although management knew this had happened she was threatened to keep her mouth shut or lose her job.
She did, but not Marie.

One evening when Marie was working the contractor showed up drunk with a member of the band that was playing at the hotel. The contractor grabbed Marie’s bottom and started with profanities. Marie slapped him and asked him to stop.
Marie told her boss Terry what had happened. Three days later Marie who had gotten a promotion to quality control was fired.
Marie filed an EEOC report and with the state of Texas.
Results: The Case worker determined that sexual harassment never occurred , ignored the 911 call, ignored the locks having to be changed and paid for by management at Terry’s condo o property after the contractor  had broken in, ignored the fact that Marie had just been promoted and there was no reason for her to be fired and no cause. The case worker claimed that “the EEOC determines criteria differently.”

Wow. What is so different about a 911 call made by a woman to save her life, evidence of her Condo broken into and management paying for her new locks and never firing the guy?

The long and short is be prepared to be bullied by the same institution that was set up to protect you, the EEOC. They are not your friend and their job is to ignore or use technical jargon to not process your case and in the  end leaving you frustrated and sadder than when you started.

Prepare yourself, but do fight for your dignity and right to work in harmony.

If anyone is interested and has the skills to sue the EEOC as a group please contact me.
